Tina Did It!

So I'm sure you know that Tina has been kicking butt out here getting in shape, training for the big Salt Lake City Marathon. She suffered thru a major breakout of blisters on her feet, but she kept on training and running to prepare for the big day. Tina, Chantel and Heather were determined to finish their first marathon.

Well the day finally came and they KICKED BIG TIME BOOTY! They finished the 13 miles in 3 hours and 17 minutes. At the finish line, they were so pumped they were ready to run another 13 miles! We are so proud of them and it was a true treat to see them succeed. Tina and Chantel are ready to keep training and they are determined to finish a full marathon very soon.

Great Job and we are so proud of you Tina, Chantel and Heather!

Newest Addition to the Family

Kayla got a chance to see the incubation and hatching of chicks. The school also asked if there was anyone interested in taking the chicks home....and of course we were the first in line to snatch them up!

They are extremely cute, Kayla takes good care of them and they are growing tremendously fast. So we'll have to invite you over to try some freshly laid eggs! :)

Elton John's Piano

So Ed Yeates from KSL Channel 5 called us and told us that a Red Piano of Elton John's was going to be at the studio — and wondered if Kodi would want to come and play it. Gee....did you have to ask? Of course Kodi would love to play it, so we went the Salt Lake City and Kodi had a great opportunity to play on the piano. Here's the news report

Kodi had an amazing time playing on the piano and we thank Ed for giving Kodi a chance to play on the piano. They also showed a small piece on the news with Kodi playing on the piano. It was a great experience for all of us. We are also glad Heidie and Johnnie Ray came with us — they loved it and they were great company.

Kodi in the Tooele Transcript Bulletin Newspaper

So after the newscast on Channel 5, we've been getting a lot of people contacting us about Kodi. The local newspaper wanted to do a story on Kodi and the band. The paper just came out on Thursday and we felt they did a great job with the story.

You can click on this link to read the story online. We are so proud of Kodi and the band. They are doing really good together, and we probably have a couple performances set up that are coming soon. Keep checking back and I'll post the performances when they're booked.

Biggest Storm in a Long Time

So, we move here from California and what do we experience - the biggest storm that Utah has seen in more than a decade. This was the first time all the schools in Tooele were closed, giving all the kids a "Snow Day!" Unbelievable! We were in snow to our knees and it took us a few hours to shovel out the driveway. We are new to the snow so were pretty excited and it was pretty fun for the kids.

The snow hit Tooele the hardest and we loved it! We're supposed to get more snow later in the week, but this will do for a while. Tina is truly becoming a master at shoveling snow, and the kids are starting to grow snow feet — from playing in the snow so much. Saphira loves it too, jumping nose first into the snow whenever she gets a chance to go outside.
